I read today on the website of the Espresso that has been given a list of projects U.S. nuclear , the list was confidential but not secret and was published by Federation of American Scientists, a group generally critical of the energy policies of the U.S. government (note: I am not opposed to nuclear energy in general, but only to certain policies and specific technologies such as GNEP).
Some projects, being the GNEP is a comprehensive plan for atomic energy, involving partnerships with non-US entities, such as ENEA in Italy.
One of the projects listed in the document (entry 7: pages 4 and 5 of 148 of the first communication or 7-8 of the pdf) covers just one of those projects, specifically the construction of a laboratory study with a reactor safety systems passive, ie a reactor in the first hint of a problem to turn off automatically, as the engine of a car.
